Kinser & Baillou is dedicated to the memory of Richard Kinser and to the high standards he set for the firm. Mr. Kinser's belief that strong management consulting skills should be combined with executive search came from his eleven years with BoozAllen & Hamilton. As a vice president of the firm and regional head of executive personnel services, he conducted both executive search and organization planning assignments. Prior to establishing his firm in 1986, Mr. Kinser served in The White House during the Reagan Administration. He was the President's chief professional recruiter responsible for identifying, evaluating and recruiting the Presidentially-appointed senior executives across the Executive Branch, including Cabinet members, agency heads, sub-Cabinet officers, special task forces and ambassadors. After leaving The White House, he continued as an advisor on personnel issues through the Bush Administration. Mr. Kinser started his career with U.S. Steel Corporation after receiving an economics degree from Stanford. He was at U.S. Steel as it was completing the automation of major mills and was being challenged by foreign competition. Mr. Kinser received a Presidential appointment as a commissioner of The White House Fellows Program, a program to identify future leaders of this country. He was a commissioner for ten years. Mr. Kinser is one of the two founders of a U.N. program that provides senior management counseling to the heads of Eastern European companies that are privatization candidates. The program has now served over 400 companies. He was on the Oxford University (England) Vice Chancellor's advisory committee. He was an Aspen Institute Fellow and is a member of the Economic Club of New York. He has also been a guest lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, West Point, and other organizations such as the U.S. Department of Transportation.
